Mother and Children Death Rate Could Be Reduced by PHBS

To reduce the death rate of mothers and children in Seribu Islands, Clean and Healthy Lifestyle Behavior (PHBS) should be applied to the mother and children in Seribu Islands Regency.

PKK and GSI should work together with the government to be able to deliver the program to the family level

"We should empower the resident, especially pregnant women and nursing mothers," told M Anwar, Seribu Islands Regent Vice, while opening job evaluation meeting of Love Mother Movement (GSI), Wednesday (8/12).

Anwar said, GSI and Family Welfare Movement (PKK) are the element that most understand people and can reach up to their family. So, he asked both to be able to work together with regency program in improving public welfare.

"PKK and GSI should work together with the government to be able to deliver the program to the family level," he told.

Therefore, Anwar continued, mother as family protector could still in healthy condition and also deliver PHBS to their husband, children, and close relation.

PKK's also understand the healthy lifestyle, they have a routine health check program that could bring pregnant or lactating mothers to diligently check their health to health center (Puskesmas) or integrated health services posts (Posyandu).
